Grade Level Team Chair Role

Collaborate with team and finalize pacing calendars for each quarter in each subject and Understanding by Design planning.
Ensure grade level team Lesson Plans are submitted within the deadline.
Act as a liaison between the grade level team and the Directors.
Support grade level team in the review, analysis and use of data.
Ensure that all data is submitted to Directors according to deadlines.
Support Directors in setting grade level meeting agendas.

Coordinate peer observations amongst members of the grade level team.
Act as a liaison between the Family Education Director and the grade level team, ensuring Discovery Group lessons and Family Night initiatives are clear.
Initiate grade level events and competitions such as spelling or math competitions, literacy nights/days for families or cross grade reading/math buddies.
Mentor new and novice teachers.
Facilitate professional development sessions as needed.
Serve as the point person for choosing and/or writing Discovery Lessons based on monthly calendar of Hyde Words/Principles.
Department Chair Roles and Responsibilities
