00-15m: Royal Welcome & Intro
"Welcome to the Royal Academy! Today, we aren't just learning to talk—we're learning to lead with kindness. Every friend you make is a treasure. Let's start by decorating your 'Royal Nameplate'!"
Activity: Student creates a nameplate with stickers/glitter while you explain the goals: eye contact, listening, and bravery.
15-45m: The Royal Greet (30m)
Focus on the physicality of communication. Use the Slides (Slide 2).
- The Robot vs. The Princess: Act like a cold robot (no eye contact, monotone) then act like a Princess. Ask: "Which one would you want to play with?"
- The Red Carpet Walk: Lay down a blanket/towel. Practice walking, stopping when you see someone, smiling, and saying "Lovely to see you!"
- Common Mistake: Looking at the floor. Use the "Sparkly Eyes" analogy.
45-75m: Magic Mirror & Active Listening (30m)
Teaching the "Echo and Ask" technique using the Magic Mirror Cards.
Instructional Script:
"A conversation is like a mirror. If I say I'm happy, your mirror should show me you heard me! If I say 'I love dogs', you don't say 'I like cats'. You say, 'Oh! You love dogs? What's your dog's name?'"
The Game: Mirror Match
Draw a card. Student must mirror the statement and ask one follow-up question. If they succeed, they get a 'Sparkle Sticker'.
75-120m: Tea Party & Handbags (45m)
This section combines a snack break with a tactile activity.
Part 1: The Royal Tea (15m)
Practice "Social Grace". Ask questions while eating. Focus on waiting for someone to finish their bite before asking the next question.
Part 2: The Friendship Handbag Worksheet (30m)
Draw the charms. Facilitator Note: Purposefully mention things you like that she might like (e.g., specific movies, fashion, animals). If she finds a match, she draws it!
120-150m: The Grand Ball: Joining In (30m)
The hardest skill—entering a group. Use the 3 steps from Slide 4.
Roleplay Scenarios:
1. Two 'Knights' (toys) are playing with blocks. How do you join?
2. Two 'Princesses' are talking about their gowns. How do you enter the circle?
3. A 'Baker' is making pretend cakes. How do you offer to help?
Sub Tip: If she is shy, have her practice "Side-by-Side Play" first—playing near the group before asking to join.
150-180m: Kindness Crowns & Graduation (30m)
Activity: Kindness Crowns (20m)
Use a paper crown. For every nice thing the student says about someone else, they get to add a jewel/sticker to their crown. Practice giving specific compliments: "I like your sparkly shoes" vs. "You are nice."
Graduation Ceremony (10m)
Play royal music. Present the certificate. Have her "vow" to use her Royal Friendship Powers every day!
Knowledge Check:
A strong answer includes:
- Eye contact is vital.
- Ask 'Wh-' questions to show interest.
- Find things in common.
- Wait for a pause before joining.
