1
Identity Spectrum Warm-Up
10 MIN
Distribute worksheets. Students mark their placement on various identity spectrums. Use Think-Pair-Share to discuss differences without naming names to protect privacy.
Differentiation: Provide sentence starters ("I feel more ___ because...") for ELL students.
2
Pledge Poster Creation
30 MIN
In groups of 3-4, identify common inclusion gaps (e.g., lunch table isolation). Brainstorm 2-3 specific, actionable pledges. Design posters and rotate for a mini-gallery walk with sticky note feedback.
Differentiation: Assign specific roles (Researcher, Writer, Illustrator) based on individual strengths.
3
Commitment Circle Cool-Down
10 MIN
Form a circle. Hand out prompt cards. Each student shares one personal action they will take this week to honor their group's pledge. Collect cards for the class "Inclusion Wall."
Differentiation: Allow students to share non-verbally by placing a symbol next to a class pledge if they prefer not to speak.
* This lesson is designed to be a recurring framework. Revisit posters periodically to check in on pledge progress.
