The Play-by-Play

Phase 01: Pre-Game Briefing
Welcome the team and set the tone. Explain that today isn't just about games—it's about the mechanics of teamwork. Outline how communication and trust act as the engine for successful teams.

Phase 02: Squad Deployment
Divide the group into "Tactical Units" of 4-5 members. Hand out the Tactical Cards. Challenge rules: Solve the prompts in sequence. No skipping, no solo efforts—every member must be involved.

Phase 03: Field Ops (Card Challenges)
Groups begin working through their card decks.
Circulate and observe "The Flow": Who is leading? Who is listening?
If a group stalls, ask: "What information are you missing from your teammates?"

Phase 04: The Power Play (Hockey Drill)
Setup: 2 Goals (Cones), Mini-Sticks, Soft Balls.
Divide into two opposing teams. Before the puck drops, teams have 60 seconds of "Huddle Time" to plan their communication codes.
The Twist: Emphasize verbal cues. Players must call out names and intent before passing. The focus isn't on the score, but on the clarity of the calls.

Option A: The Catch
Classic Trust Fall. Ensure strict safety protocols and spotter positioning.
Option B: Blind Navigator
Pair walk through an obstacle course using only verbal directional cues.
Focus on the vulnerability required to trust and the responsibility of being the one trusted.

Final Debrief: Post-Game Analysis
Gather in a circle. Throw the 'Talk Ball' to participants to answer:
Which challenge caused the most friction in communication?
When you were blindfolded/falling, what specific words helped you feel safe?
How do these "Field Plays" translate to our daily teamwork?
