- Students will assess readiness for the ESB certification by reviewing study strategies for Domains 1-4.
Welcome & Launch
10 Minutes
The "CEO's Audit" Hook: Draw a parallel between a business reviewing its quarterly metrics and a student monitoring their own grades. Explain that entrepreneurs must continuously evaluate metrics to survive.
Teacher Prompt: "If your high school transcripts were a startup's balance sheet, would investors fund you today? Let's conduct a CEO's Audit of your grades and map out your strategic roadmap."
Tier 1 Core Instruction: Modeling & Guided Practice
20 Minutes
1. Grade Analysis Modeling: Open the student grade portal on the projector. Model how to locate grading categories, identifying "red flag" assignments (zeros, low test weights), and calculate the grades needed to maintain eligibility.
2. Xello Platform Navigation Walkthrough: Live-demonstrate logging into Xello. Show students how to navigate to "About Me", find their grade-level assignments (e.g., career profiles, lessons), and verify they are completed.
3. ESB Exam Alignment (Domains 1-4): Briefly review the 4 domains of the ESB curriculum (Entrepreneurial Mindset, Business Opportunity, Starting a Business, Business Operations). Show how to log into the external exam portal where they will take the practice exam.
