How to Play
1
Preparation (3 min)
Organize students into groups of 3–4. Distribute the Emotion Decoder Cards. Demonstrate how to act out an emotion using posture and face—no words or sound allowed!
2
The Mimic (10 min)
A student picks a card but keeps it hidden.
Group members close their eyes while the "Mimic" gets ready.
Mimic begins acting; group opens eyes and guesses.
Rotate until everyone has performed.
3
Discussion (5 min)
Gather the class. Discuss: Which emotions were hardest? What cues were most helpful? How can we use this in real life?
Facilitation Tips
Encourage "over-acting" for harder emotions like Jealous or Content.
Notice if students focus only on faces—remind them about Posture and Gestures.
Follow-Up
Challenge students to create their own custom emotion cards based on feelings they notice throughout the school day.
