Ask about their current biggest challenge with homework.
"What's one thing that makes remembering or getting your homework done feel tricky sometimes?"

Introduction: Power of Planning (3 min)
Use Slides 1-2 . Discuss stress reduction, remembering tasks, and building good habits.
"Today, we're going to talk about a secret weapon: planning!"

Planner Basics: The Map (4 min)
Use Slides 3-4 . Explain the steps: writing it all down, due dates, breaking down tasks, and checking off. Show an example.

Guided Practice: Mapping (3 min)
Use the Worksheet . Guide the student through recording example assignments. Model breaking down a project into steps.

Reflection & Pledge (3 min)
Use Journal/Activity . Set one small, actionable goal for the week.

Pro Tips for the Coach
Breaking it Down: If a student struggles with projects, use the "Chunking" method. Example: "Research" becomes "Find 3 books" and "Write 5 facts."
Visual Cues: Suggest using highlighters or colored pens for different subjects to make the planner visual.
The "Win": Remind the student that checking a box releases dopamine—it's a literal "win" for their brain!
