Quest 1: Navigating the Map
STAGE 01/03
Daily Navigation Guides
-
1
The Bell Schedule You will change classrooms every 45-50 minutes. Pay attention to warnings!
-
2
Passing Periods Usually 4-5 minutes. No lingering in halls; go directly to your next base!
-
3
A Bigger Building Rooms are numbered logically (e.g., Room 104 is 1st floor, 204 is 2nd).
Turn & Talk Prompt
"You have exactly 4 minutes between Math on the 1st floor and Science on the 2nd floor."
Discuss with a partner: What is your strategy? Do you stop at your locker? Do you bathroom break? Why or why not?
Time Limit: 2 Minutes
Map Legend: Look for color-coded hallways on your tour! NEXT UP: Locker Code Decrypted ➔
Tactical Skill: Master the Locker
STAGE 01/03 (BONUS)
01
Clear & Turn Right
Spin the dial right (clockwise) multiple times to clear old codes. Stop exactly on your 1st number.
02
Turn Left (Pass Once)
Spin left (counter-clockwise). Pass your 1st number exactly ONCE, then stop on your 2nd number.
03
Right & Tug
Turn right directly to your 3rd number. Pull down slightly and lift the latch open!
Locker Pro-Tip: Never share your lock code with anyone—not even your best friend! Keep your locker clean so books don't jam the door.
Stuck? Hallway monitors and teachers are always there to help you unlock it. NEXT UP: Managing Teachers & Planners ➔
Quest 2: Managing the Quests
STAGE 02/03
The Junior High Brain
-
A
Multiple Teachers You will have 6-7 different teachers. Each teacher has their own rules, syllabus, and style!
-
B
The Planner (Digital/Paper) Your memory is no longer enough! Write down due dates immediately as they are assigned.
-
C
Self-Tracking Homework Check your grades weekly online. Don't wait until report cards to spot missing work!
Speed Strategy
"Your Science Teacher assigns a lab report due Friday. Your English Teacher assigns a vocabulary project due Thursday."
How do you keep track? Discuss with a neighbor: Do you prefer a digital planner (on your tablet/laptop) or a paper agenda? Why?
Goal: Design your organization routine today!
Resource Tip: Keep separate folders or tab dividers for each of your subjects. NEXT UP: Building Your Guild (Social Growth) ➔
Quest 3: Your Guild & Allies
STAGE 03/03
Recruits & Allies
Junior high blends students from multiple elementary schools. You will meet tons of new friends. Smile, say hi, and ask about their interests!
Tip: Join a school club, band, or sports team!
Self-Advocacy
If you are confused, ask your teacher! They are there to support your quests. Send an email or ask after class.
Tip: Asking for help is a high-level power-up.
Peer Pressure
You might feel pressured to look, act, or talk a certain way. Stay true to your values and protect your personal code.
Tip: Real friends respect your boundaries.
Class Scenario: "You can't find your science textbook, and class starts in 3 minutes." Who do you ask? What do you say?
Remember: Everyone is nervous. Be the classmate who makes others feel included! NEXT UP: Myth-Busting Challenge ➔
Boss Battle: Myth vs. Fact
BONUS LEVEL
Myth #1
"If you get lost and arrive late, you will get detention immediately on your first day!"
➔ FACT CHECK
Teachers expect you to get lost! For the first week, everyone is lenient. Just ask any hall monitor or teacher for help.
Myth #2
"Middle schoolers are mean, and you will get stuffed in a locker or pranked!"
➔ FACT CHECK
TV shows exaggerate! School rules are strict against bullying. Plus, lockers are way too small for humans. You're safe!
What other scary rumors have you heard about junior high? Let's bust them together!
Fact: Most 7th and 8th graders are helpful and can recall exactly how it felt to be in 6th grade. NEXT UP: Loot Drop (Q&A) ➔

Allies & Advocacy Scenarios
In junior high, asking for help is your most critical power-up. Read the scenarios below and write your action plan.
Scenario A: The Missing Homework Mystery Urgent
You completed your math homework, but when you open your backpack in class, you realize it is missing from your binder. You have never had this teacher before and are nervous.
Scenario B: The Navigation Nightmare Logistics
You spend 3 minutes struggling to open your locker. By the time you get your history book, the bell rings and you are officially late. Your history classroom door is closed.
Protecting Your Personal Code
You will meet many different groups of friends. Formulate two simple, confident "Refusal Lines" you can use if you are pressured to do something that breaks school rules or makes you uncomfortable.
