Zones Storytime Slides Feeling All the Feels!
Our feelings are like colors, and they tell us how we are doing inside! Today, we're going to learn a super cool way to understand our feelings.
Teacher Note: Welcome students and ask them to think about different feelings.
Slide 1
The Blue Zone: Slow Down
When you're in the Blue Zone, you might feel:
😢 Sad (missing someone)
🥱 Tired (didn't sleep well)
🤒 Sick (tummy ache)
😑 Bored (nothing to do)
What does your body feel like in the Blue Zone?
Teacher Note: Explain it's okay to feel these emotions. Give relatable examples.
Slide 2
The Green Zone: Just Right!
This is a great zone to be in for school!
The Green Zone is when you feel:
😊 Happy (playing with friends)
😌 Calm (reading a good book)
🧐 Focused (listening to the teacher)
🧠 Ready to Learn!
Teacher Note: This is the 'just right' zone for learning. Brain is awake!
Slide 3
The Yellow Zone: Wobbly Feelings
Your feelings are a little "wobbly" when you feel:
😤 Frustrated (toy won't work)
😟 Worried (before a test)
🤪 Silly (the giggles!)
🤩 Excited (it's your birthday!)
Your body might feel a little fast or wiggly in this zone.
Teacher Note: Emphasize these are 'wobbly' feelings. Important to notice them early.
Slide 4
The Red Zone: Big Emotions!
When you're in the Red Zone, it's hard to think clearly.
When you have BIG, out-of-control feelings:
😡 Angry (someone takes your toy)
😱 Scared (loud noise)
🤯 Elated (too much energy!)
🚫 Out of Control
Teacher Note: Reassure them it's okay, but we need strategies to get back to green.
