5 min
Rotation 1: Mindfulness Station
Gather at the mindfulness area and project the Mindfulness Station Slides . Lead students through a short guided listening or mindful coloring activity. Pause for reflection: ask students to name one thing they noticed mindfully.
5 min
Rotation 2: Sensory Bottles Exploration
Distribute Sensory Bottles Exploration materials. Encourage students to shake and observe how the contents move. Prompt discussion: “What do you see? How does watching the bottle make you feel?”
5 min
Rotation 3: Guided Breathing Practice
Invite students to sit comfortably and follow the Guided Breathing Script . Model deep breaths using simple language (“smell the flower, blow out the candle”). Encourage students to place hands on their bellies.
5 min
Rotation 4: Feelings Check-In Journaling
Hand out Feelings Check-In Notes . Ask students to draw or circle the face that matches their current feeling. Provide sentence starters for sharing: “I feel... because...”

Closing Reflection & Wrap-Up
Reconvene as a group and invite volunteers to share which strategy helped them most. Reinforce coping skills and praise effort. Remind them the Calm Corner is available anytime.
Mindfulness Station Slides Welcome to the Mindfulness Station!
Here we will practice being calm and paying attention. Get ready to breathe, listen, and color mindfully.
Calm Corner
Teacher: Welcome students with a calm voice.
Breathe with the Bubble
Pretend you’re blowing up a big bubble:
Breathe in slowly through your nose…
Breathe out slowly through your mouth…
Notice how your belly rises and falls.
Teacher: Model taking a deep breath. Hands on bellies.
Listen to the Sounds
Close your eyes. Listen carefully to every sound around you:
Near You
What do you hear very close to your ears?
Far Away
What do you hear outside or in the hallway?
Raise your hand when you notice a new sound.
Teacher: 10 seconds of silence. Count aloud.
Mindful Coloring
Pick a crayon or marker. Color one small area slowly:
Notice the pressure and color
Stay focused on just that section
Try a second color when you feel ready.
Teacher: Distribute coloring tools. Encourage slow strokes.
Notice Your Senses
What did you notice during our practice?
What did you see?
What did you hear?
How does your body feel?
Take a deep breath and smile.
Teacher: Guide quiet reflection, then share.
Reflection Time
Draw or say one thing you noticed during our practice.
Great job being mindful today!
Teacher: Praise effort. Explain next steps.
Sensory Bottles Exploration Activity Sensory Bottles Exploration
Calm Corner Station 2
What is this?
Students will explore and observe a variety of sensory bottles, noticing movement, color, and texture as they practice calm, focused attention.
Needed Items
• Selection of sensory bottles
• Magnifying glasses
• Small flashlights (optional)
• Cloth mats or trays
Step-by-Step Instructions
1
Introduction (1 minute)
Gather students in a circle. Explain: “We’re going to use these special bottles to help calm our minds. You’ll shake them gently and watch what happens inside.”
2
Exploration (2 minutes)
Give each student one sensory bottle and a mat/tray. Prompt them: “Shake your bottle slowly. Watch the glitter swirl, the oil move—notice every little piece.” Encourage whispering about what they see.
3
Guided Questions (1 minute)
Ask students to hold their bottle still and think:
Observation
“What shapes or patterns do you notice?”
Feeling
“How does watching the bottle make your body feel?”
4
Reflection & Reset (1 minute)
Have students place their bottles back on the tray. Guide them to take two deep breaths and notice if they feel calmer. Remind them they can use these anytime they need a moment.
Teacher Tip
Offer extra support to students who rush through shaking. Model a slow, gentle shake to help them pace their breathing alongside the movement.
