Grade 2 Action Squad
THE 3-2-1 POWER LAUNCH
How to tackle what you need to do in school—even when you really don’t feel like it!
Secret Weapon: Turn your brain into a rocket engine
20-Minute Quick Mission
Step 01 • The Challenge
Have You Ever Felt The "Brain Freeze"?
The Writing Page
The teacher says: "Write 3 sentences." You stare at the blank white page and think: "NO WAY."
Clean-Up Time
Free choice is over. Blocks are all over the rug. You feel like slumping down and doing zero work.
Tough Math Problems
Problem #4 looks huge and tricky. Your brain says: "Put your head on the desk and wait."
BIG TRUTH
Everyone gets that feeling! Champions don’t wait to feel like working—they know how to launch.
Step 02 • The Strategy
The 3-Step Power Launch Formula
Step 1
Spot The Freeze
Catch Your Brain!
Notice that "ugh" feeling right away. Say inside:
"I'm frozen, but I'm ready to launch!"
👀 Notice the stall in 2 seconds
Step 2
Count 3-2-1
Countdown Out Loud!
Take one quick deep breath and count:
"3... 2... 1... BLASTOFF!"
🚀 Never reach zero without moving
Step 3
Tiny Move
Do ONE Tiny Thing
Don't do the whole job yet! Just do ONE tiny physical action right now.
✏️ Pick up pencil • Write your name
"Starting is the hardest part. Once you take ONE step, your engine runs on its own!"
Step 03 • Action Toolkit
What Counts As A "Tiny Move"?
Too Heavy For Your Brain
✕ "Finish this whole big writing story!"
✕ "Clean up this massive mess of 200 blocks!"
✕ "Read this entire 10-page book right now!"
Result: Your brain panics and stalls!
Tiny Power Moves (Easy!)
✓ "Just write my name and the date at the top."
✓ "Just pick up THREE blue blocks and put them in."
✓ "Just open to page 1 and point to the first word."
Result: Boom! You started without feeling mad!
Coach Rule: If the step feels too hard, make it even tinier until your brain says "Oh, I can definitely do that!"
Step 04 • Quick Practice
Live Arena Drill: Ready, Set, LAUNCH!
60 SECONDS
1
Think of your LEAST favorite school task right now
Writing prompt? Math worksheet? Cleaning your desk? Spelling?
2
Turn to your teammate and name your "TINY MOVE"
Example: "My tiny move is uncapping my red marker and writing letter 'A'."
3
Count down together and do the physical motion!
3... 2... 1... LAUNCH! Put hands on desk and pretend to start!
Listen for the coach's countdown signal!
The Official Launch Oath
Stand up or put hand on heart:
"When the work looks hard and I want to quit,
I won’t complain and I won’t sit!
