Rotate across settings to test generalization

Classroom Jobs

1. Laptop Station Cart Plug in cords, match device numbers to slots, close and lock cart doors.

2. Recycling Sorting Empty classroom bin, separate paper from plastics, return bin with new liner.

3. Library Shelf Audit Collect loose books, organize by genre sticker, face spines outwards.

Academic Writing & Labs

4. Paragraph Proofreading Highlight topic sentence, check capital letters/periods, reread aloud for flow.

5. Science Lab Setup Wipe tabletop, collect beaker and test tubes from supply cart, lay out lab sheets.

6. Math Problem Solving Underline key numbers, write down the formula, solve and label final units.

Executive Functioning

7. Binder Overhaul Remove loose papers, file by subject tab, discard outdated scrap notes.

8. Daily Planner Check Copy board homework, check off completed classwork, pack needed textbooks.

9. Desk Space Sanitizing Clear items off desk, wipe with disinfectant cloth, restock pencil holder.

Life Skills / Vocational Station Prompts (Generalization)

10. Snack Prep: Wash hands, wipe prep counter, distribute napkins & snacks.

11. Mail Delivery: Collect office slips, check room numbers, place in staff mailboxes.

12. Art Station Reset: Wash paintbrushes, cap all glue sticks, stack drying racks.

Scaffolding & Prompt Fading Pathway

Phase 1: Co-Planning (Days 1–3) Think aloud with student: "What should we do first? Second?" Have student write the steps down. Count as Level 1–2 support.

Phase 2: Visual Prompting (Days 4–7) Place the Task Mission Sheet on the desk silently. Allow 60 seconds for student to self-initiate step writing (Level 3).

Phase 3: Independent Tooling (Days 8–10) Provide verbal task only. Student grabs planner, creates 3+ steps, and completes job unprompted (Level 4 Mastery).

Troubleshooting Common Pitfalls

Pitfall: Student writes checklist after doing job Retrospective writing does not develop executive functioning. Mark Criterion A as "NO" and prompt: "A checklist guides our work before we begin."

Pitfall: Writes only 1 or 2 macro steps If student writes "Clean room", prompt: "Can you break that into 3 smaller action steps so you know exactly where to start?"
