Mighty Hands Social Story
My Superpower Storybook
Name:
Self-Control Superpowers
Mighty Hands, Safe Choices
I am strong. I am in control of my own body!
Every Kid Has Big Feelings
At school, many things happen every day. Sometimes things feel unfair. Sometimes someone takes a toy I was using, or a game does not go my way. Sometimes the classroom is loud or work feels tough.
It is 100% OKAY to feel mad, upset, or frustrated. Feelings are never wrong!
How My Body Warns Me (Body Radar)
Before my hands want to push, hit, or grab, my body sends warning signals. When I notice these clues, I know a big feeling is here:
Heart Beats Fast
Thump, thump, thump like a drum.
Warm Face & Cheeks
My cheeks feel hot like summer.
Tight Fists
My hands clamp into tight rocks.
Fast Lightning Brain
I want to react right away.

Autonomy & Control
Section 2: The Boss of Me
I Am the Boss of My Own Body
Nobody else controls my hands. I hold the wheel!
If My Hands Push or Grab:
- • My friends feel unsafe or sad.
- • The game or recess stops immediately.
- • I lose my freedom and privileges.
- • My anger grows even bigger!
Hurting hands make problems bigger.
When My Hands Stay Safe:
- ✓ I keep my playtime and freedom.
- ✓ Classmates know I am safe to play with.
- ✓ Teachers trust me with fun materials.
- ✓ I feel proud of my self-control!
Safe hands keep me in charge and playing!

Section 3: What Hands Can Do
Safe Power Moves for Mighty Hands
ADHD energy and big mad feelings make hands want to DO something. Here are 4 safe moves that release the energy without hurting anyone:
1
The Wall Push (Heavy Work)
Put both palms flat against a safe wall. Push with all my might for 5 seconds.
Puts storm energy into the strong wall!
2
Pocket Squeeze & Melt
Put hands in pockets. Squeeze fists as tight as lemons, count 1-2-3, then let fingers open like warm melted cheese.
Invisible power move nobody even sees!
3
The Butterfly Armor Hug
Cross arms over my chest. Hold onto my own shoulders and squeeze tight. Tap gently left, right, left, right.
Calms my racing engine right down.
4
Desk Fold or Fidget Squeeze
Interlock fingers together flat on my desk, or squeeze a squishy stress ball with two hands.
Keeps my fingers busy and safe.
Super Words Are Stronger Than Pushing
When I want to push or grab, I use my voice like a megaphone of truth:
"I need space right now!"
"I was using that block!"
"I feel mad! I need 2 minutes."
"Teacher, I need help here."
#3
Action Rule
Strong kids use strong words, not hands!
