Mission Briefing: School is full of jokes, side chatter, and peer pressure. When you follow others off-task, they control your time and focus. Your radar spots the pull before you take the bait.
1
Distraction Categories: Know the Pull
The Social Bait
Whispers, side jokes, passed notes, funny faces across the room.
Pull: "Don't leave me hanging!"
The Group Drift

Field Analysis: Spot the Hook
Scenario A The Desk Tapper & Commentator Independent Work Time

What is the trap being set for you?
What happens if you turn and engage?

Your Defense Tactics: Four Discreet Moves
You don't need to argue or make a scene. Use these low-profile moves to stay in your zone:
1. The Neutral Nod & Pivot
Give a tiny half-nod without smiling or locking eyes, then turn your shoulders back toward your paper. Do not speak.
2. The 3-Second Deflect
Calmly shut down the conversation: "Catch you at passing period" or "Gotta knock this out so I have zero homework."
3. The 5-Minute Micro-Sprint
When others drift, set a mini-goal: "I will finish questions 3 and 4 before I even look up." Put your pen down only when done.
4. The Anchor Reset
Plant both feet flat, take one slow exhale, place your index finger right below the next problem, and read silently in your head.
