1. The Three Primary Interface Zones
Prompt Bar (Left)
Definition: The command box at the bottom of the left chat panel. Type conversational requests here to generate, refine, differentiate, or extend any material. Lenny remembers your lesson history.
Live Canvas (Right)
Definition: The interactive preview viewport on the right side of the screen. Shows materials dynamically rendered exactly as they appear when presented on projectors or printed on 8.5×11 paper.
Resource Tray (Tabs)
Definition: The switcher tabs above the canvas displaying all materials belonging to the current lesson (e.g., slides, worksheet, answer key). Keeps your entire unit bundle organized in one place.
2. Workspace Hierarchy (How Content is Organized) From Multi-Week Units down to Single Handouts
A. Sequence (Unit Level)
A container for an entire multi-day or multi-week instructional unit. Holds multiple sequential lessons (e.g., "Unit 4: Plate Tectonics & Earthquakes").
B. Lesson (Topic Level)
A single instructional period or module. Bundles all matching teaching and student resources together (e.g., "Fault Lines & Seismic Waves").
C. Material (Asset Level)
A distinct classroom resource inside a lesson: either a Slides deck (16:9 presentation) or a Document (8.5×11 printable worksheet or guide).

Edit Direct Customization
Definition: Allows direct on-canvas text and layout adjustments without having to write a chat prompt. Use when fixing a minor typo, updating your school's name, or rewording a single question header.
Remix Safe Branching / Tiering
Definition: Creates an independent clone of any lesson or peer resource. Changes made to a remix never overwrite the original file. Use to generate Tier 2/3 ELL/IEP scaffolds, honors extensions, or adapted sub plans.
Add to Collection Curriculum Binders
Definition: Files a lesson into a custom curriculum folder. Use to build structured units (e.g., "Semester 1 Earth Science" or "Advisory Lessons") that remain saved and reusable year after year.

Locate Your Prompt Bar & Start Your Lesson
Bottom-Left Screen
Look at the bottom of the left chat panel. Click into the prompt bar labeled "Message Lenny...". Every lesson starts here by telling Lenny what grade, subject, and topic you need.

Always begin with your presentation so Lenny establishes the instructional core:
