Launch Blueprint Teacher Guide Mission Control DOC ID: L-BLUE-01
LAUNCH BLUEPRINT
First-Day Procedures & PRIDE Systems
GRADE: 6-12
EST. DURATION: 55 MIN
Target
Establish the Launchpad entry routine and decode PRIDE behavioral standards.
Payload
Spark Slides, Pride Protocol Worksheets, Station Materials, Station Signs.
Critical Path
Interactive entry trials, guided PRIDE discussion, and station-based practice.
Phase 1: Launch Sequence (0 - 15 Min)
00-05 M
The Launchpad Entry Protocol
Greet students at the threshold. Hand them the Pride Protocol Worksheet . Instruct them to find their assigned flight seats (pre-labeled or projected) and immediately focus on the board.
Teacher Script: "Welcome aboard! Grab your flight logs, locate your designated launch station on the screen, and prepare for immediate ignition. We begin with silence and focus."
05-15 M
The Spark Warm-up & Setup
Students complete the "Launchpad Spark" task on page 1 of their worksheets. The prompt requires them to list three rules they expect a professional mission commander (teacher) to follow, and three they expect fellow astronauts (peers) to uphold.
Systems Check: Debrief responses by choosing 3 students to share peer expectations and 3 to share teacher expectations. Connect their answers directly to the PRIDE standards.
Phase 2: Direct Orbit (15 - 30 Min)
15-30 M
Decoding the PRIDE Blueprint
Present the PRIDE Expectations using the Spark Launch Slides. Do not simply read them; unpack the practical mechanics of each:
Prepared: Materials unpacked, pencils sharpened before the launch countdown ends.
Respectful: Single-mic protocol (one speaker at a time), non-verbal affirmations.
Integrity: Hard boundaries on original work, owning and reporting system errors.
Determined: Productive struggle for at least 3 minutes before calling Mission Control.
Engaged: Active writing during prompts, constructive peer feedback loops.
Pro-Tip
Model non-examples! Show what "mock compliance" or "passive failure" looks like, then contrast it with real PRIDE execution.

LAUNCH BLUEPRINT
Procedural Rotations & landing Checks
PHASE: ROTATION
TARGET: 100% SUCCESS
Phase 3: Station Mission Rotations (30 - 50 Min)
Students split into 4 flight groups to cycle through procedure-focused simulation stations. Set a timer for 4 minutes per station . Group transition requires absolute alignment with transition audio cues (bell or clap sequence).
1 ENTRY FLIGHT PATH
Students line up outside the door, then execute entering, grabbing logs, and seating in under 30 seconds. Repeat twice for mastery.
2 RESOURCE DISPENSARY
Practice taking materials from the materials counter, sharpening pencils, and turning in mock work sheets without creating high-traffic blockages.
3 MISSION CALIBRATION
Students review the syllabus FAQ sheet. They must locate the grade weight percentages, absent-work location, and late submission protocols.
4 COLLABORATIVE COMMS
Group members complete a collaborative grid task. They practice volume control using the Voice Decibel protocol: Level 1 (Whisper) only.
Phase 4: Systems Landing Check (50 - 55 Min)
50-55 M
The PRIDE Commitment & Exit Protocol
Reconvene as a whole group. Have students sign the PRIDE Commitment Contract at the bottom of page 2 of their worksheet. Review the cleanup and dismissal routine:
Debris Sweep Scan floor for stray papers, lead, and trash.
Docking Station Align chairs perfectly parallel to desks.
Contingency Protocols (Troubleshooting)
If Rotations Fall Apart: Pause operations immediately with a whistle/call-and-response. Bring everyone back to Level 0 (Silence). Rerun the transition sequence until flawless.
If Students Finish Stations Early: Instruct them to complete the "Extension: System Calibration" section at the bottom of the worksheet, designing their own PRIDE icon.

Phase 2: Active Station Simulations
STATION 1: ENTRY FLIGHT PATH TARGET SPEED: < 30 SEC
Line up silently outside the classroom. Enter, pull your logs, take your seats, and ready your materials. Place a checkmark after successfully executing each step:
1. SILENT THRESHOLD
2. LOG COLLECTION
3. DESK DOCKING
STATION 2: RESOURCE DISPENSARY SUPPLY SYSTEMS PROTOCOL
Locate the classroom materials desk. Draw a quick map/diagram showing where pencils are sharpened, papers are turned in, and exit passes are left. Label the high-traffic "no-parking zone".

STATION 3: MISSION CALIBRATION SYLLABUS FAQ DISCOVERY
Examine the Syllabus board. Discover and record three vital mission parameters below:
1. LATE WORK PENALTY
2. GRADE WEIGHT FOR TESTS
3. ABSENT WORK BIN LOCATION
STATION 4: COLLABORATIVE COMMS DECIBEL CONTROL TEST
Using Level 1 Whisper Voices only, work with your flight crew to decipher the secret message from the ELA Command Center. Write the final decoded message on the lines:
PRIDE Crew Contract
I pledge to pilot my education with PRIDE . I will remain Prepared with required gear, Respectful of my crew, behave with total Integrity , show grit and remain Determined during struggle, and stay actively Engaged in our class mission daily.
