GUILD MASTER GUIDE
Your handbook for running the Hero Homework Quest. Use these behavioral design tools, scaffolds, and gamified strategies to bypass anxiety, build executive control, and spark internal drive.
1. THE DAILY QUEST ROUTINE
- • Pack-Up Phase: At school, the teacher prompts the student to check off the backpack inventory list before dismissal.
- • Arrival Phase: At home, reward immediate XP just for unpacking the folder and putting it on the desk.
- • Action Phase: Set a friendly visual timer for 15 minutes. This is a short, anxiety-free quest duration.
2. THE REWARD ECONOMY
Keep rewards immediate, small, and highly custom. Avoid withholding long-term privileges; focus on unlocking immediate "perks":
Bronze Level Ideas: Pick a dessert topping, stay up 10 mins late tonight, or choose a fun temporary tattoo.
Silver Level Ideas: Choose the car music for school run, extra 15 mins screen-time slot, or pick the family dinner menu.
Gold Level Ideas: A special weekend trip to the park, one small toy treasure, or a movie-night companion pass.
3. FRUSTRATION MASTER SHEATH
Anxiety manifests as refusal, anger, or checking out. Reframe mistakes into "Critical Hits" and struggle into "XP Farming":
- • The Grit Shield: Hand out effort stamps or stars when the student tries a hard problem or uses a coping mechanism (like deep breaths).
- • The "Skip-and-Stun" Ability: Let them write a small star next to one hard problem. They "stun" it, skip it, and return with a parent helper.
4. DIALOGUE SCRIPTS FOR AGENTS
Use supportive, gamified language to reduce emotional charge:
When homework refusal starts:
"Let's check our inventory first. Do you have the Pencil of Wisdom ready? Let's unlock today's Portal."
When they hit a frustrating obstacle:
"Ah! A wild Boss monster appeared! Let's cast the 'Take-3-Breaths Spell' together to charge up our attack."
