The slide deck is used strictly at the start to introduce the mission and preview clip. All kitchen clues use the print-and-cut paper props kit (6 numbered fold-up tents and cutout props) so no food is wasted or purchased. Teams take turns entering the physical kitchen to investigate clues (10–12 minutes per team) while the other groups watch the full Crime Scene Kitchen episode on Tubi via the Google Doc link. Once all teams finish, gather for the reveal!

Open the Google Doc on the media room computer and launch the Tubi link: Crime Scene Kitchen Season 3, Episode 1 ("It's a Family Affair") . Keep this playing on the main TV for waiting groups while facilitator leads one team at a time into the kitchen.
In-Kitchen Coaching Prompts (12 Mins per Team)
Guide adult learners with IDD to observe actively. Help them spot each numbered clue tent without giving away the answer:
Clue #1 (Bakeware):
"Notice the wavy fluted edges on that round pan cutout. Does that look like a pizza pan or a holiday pie pan?"
Clue #2 (Filling):
"Look at that bright orange puree can cutout. What classic Thanksgiving pie has that orange color?"
Clue #3 & #4 (Flavors):
"Check the spice shakers and vanilla bottle. Cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla smell just like Thanksgiving!"
Clue #5 & #6 (Toppings & Trash):
"Look inside the evidence bin cutout. What nut bag did our mystery baker use for the crunchy topping?"
Team Guess Deliberation (10 Mins)
Pause the Tubi episode once all teams have returned. Give each team 2 minutes to whisper and choose their final guess.
Facilitator Script:
"All detectives have investigated the scene! Team 1, what did your detectives decide was baked? Team 2, what is your prediction? Team 3, what are you guessing?"
The Grand Reveal (Slide 5)
Reveal Script:
"Switch to Slide 5! Countdown from 5... 4... 3... 2... 1! The mystery bake was a Spiced Thanksgiving Pumpkin Pecan Pie!"
Show how the fluted pie pan, canned pumpkin puree, holiday spices, vanilla, and pecan bag all proved the recipe. Celebrate all teams with detective certificates!
