v-e Long Vowel Sound says its name (e.g. hive, brave)
-ive Short Exception Sound says /ĭ/ (e.g. give, active)
Clive and Olive live near a massive hive. The bees in the hive are very active. At five, they drive to the hive. They give the bees a fine treat. The bees smile and dive in.
Olive likes to save sweet fruit. Clive likes to slice it up. They are positive that the active bees will thrive on the sweet treats they give.
One day, a brave little bee went for a ride. She made a quick dive near Clive's nice home. Olive gave her a sweet drop of lime juice. It made the bee feel alive! She flew back to the hive to tell her friends. Now, Clive and Olive have five massive hives!
