A Short Story about a Forest Surprise
Leo and his dad pitched their bright green tent in the whispering woods. They gathered dry twigs to start a warm, crackling campfire. Leo roasted a sticky marshmallow until it was golden brown.
In the middle of the night, a rustling noise woke Leo up. He peeked outside and saw a furry mask and a striped tail! A sneaky raccoon was sorting through their blue cooler, throwing slices of bread into the air.
The next morning, Leo and his dad found their camp shoes inside the cooler and the bread on top of the tent. They laughed and hung a bell on the cooler to keep the raccoon away.

A Snowy Search and Find Story
Mia woke up to see a blanket of fresh, fluffy snow covering her entire backyard. She quickly pulled on her heavy blue coat and went to the hallway closet to grab her favorite red mittens.
Mia searched the top shelf, crawled to peek behind the heavy winter boots, and even checked under the dusty rug, but her mittens were gone. Just then, she heard a soft scratching sound coming from the living room.
Mia walked into the living room and found her puppy, Barnaby, asleep in his dog bed. Tucked snugly under his soft chin were both of Mia’s warm, red mittens. Mia giggled, gently patted Barnaby's head, and finally went outside to build her snowman.

A Fast-Paced Technology Adventure
Sam sat at his bedroom desk and carefully connected the last blue wire to his shiny new robot, Bolt. When Sam pressed the yellow button on Bolt's chest, the robot's green eyes lit up and it began to hum happily.
Suddenly, Bolt zoomed right off the desk, rolled out of the open bedroom door, and tumbled down the hallway carpet. Sam chased after him, but the speedy little robot was already rolling into the kitchen.
Bolt crashed softly into a tall basket of clean laundry, sending white socks flying into the air like birds. Sam caught up, picked Bolt up, and quickly adjusted his speed dial so they could walk back to the desk together.
