Community Basics
What is a Business?
A place where people buy goods (things like food or stamps).
A place where people get services (help with saving money or sending mail).
Each business has a special sign, logo, and job.
Vocabulary
Community Hubs
These stores and offices keep our towns running and help us with our daily needs.
We use these places almost every week!

The Grocery Store
What we do: Buy fresh food, snacks, drinks, and home supplies.
Key tools: Shopping carts, shopping lists, and grocery bags.
Paying: We pay the cashier at the register or use self-checkout.
Grocery Store
Look for signs that say "Market", "Supermarket", or "Foods"!
Tip: Use a shopping list to remember what items you need to buy.

The Bank
What we do: Keep our money safe, make deposits, and withdraw cash.
Key tools: Debit cards, deposit slips, checks, and savings accounts.
Who helps: The teller at the counter or the safe ATM machine.

Look for signs with words like "Bank", "Credit Union", or "Savings"!
Security: Never share your secret debit card PIN number with anyone!

What we do: Mail letters, ship packages, and buy postal stamps.
Key tools: Envelopes, stamps, address labels, and shipping boxes.
How it works: We put a stamp on the top-right corner of the envelope.

Look for blue collection boxes and the USPS eagle emblem!
Address Guide: Top-left is your return address; center is who you are mailing it to!
