Leo the little lion lived by Lily Lake. On a chilly autumn evening, he carried his favorite yellow telescope up to Lookout Hill. Leo loved to look at the cool, silver moon and count the twinkling stars.
Suddenly, the telescope slipped off the wooden table! It rolled down the grassy trail and vanished into the dark woods. "Oh no!" cried Leo. "I lost my lovely lens!" Leo quickly grabbed his small lantern and a flashlight to follow the path.
High in a tall willow tree sat a wise old owl. The owl called out, "Look for the golden shine near the pool of water!" Leo walked carefully, listening to the quiet night. Finally, resting beside a purple wildflower, Leo spotted the gold telescope safe and sound. Leo smiled, cheered with joy, and carried it back to share a look with his friend Owl.
