Lesson Objective
Students will share three personal interests using visual aids and guided prompts, completing a snapshot worksheet to communicate preferences and support future instruction.

Instructional Path

Warm-Up & Introduction
5 Minutes
- Greet student by name; remind them this session is about them.
- Explain: "We’re going to share your favorite things so I can get to know you better."
- Model pointing or circling an icon on the Visual Choice Board.

Preference Identification
10 Minutes
- Present Icon Cards face-up on the Choice Board.
- Student picks 3 cards (Color, Food, Activity, Animal, Shape).
- Prompts: "Which one do you like the most? Tell me about it."
- Offer gestural support as needed.

Student Snapshot Completion
10 Minutes
- Student pastes or draws chosen icons into worksheet boxes.
- Ask: "Why is this your favorite?" or "When do you like it most?"
- Use markers for corrections or labeling.

Reflection & Closure
5 Minutes
- Review the worksheet together, verbally reinforcing each choice.
- Praise sharing: "Thank you for telling me about yourself!"
- End with a high-five or preferred reinforcement.

Setup Guide
- Laminate and cut the Interest Icon Cards.
- Affix Velcro dots or magnets to the back of each icon.
- Place category icons in the top grid.
- Designate the bottom row for "My Choices".
Pro-Tip
Use a magnetic whiteboard for the base to allow easy moving and swapping of icons!
