Step 1: Zones First
Students should mark where the large furniture goes first. Encourage them to place the 'Vault' in a corner or area not visible from the main entrance.
Step 2: Paper Paths
Have students draw arrows showing how a piece of paper travels from the door (student hand-off) to the Inbox, and then to the Deep Work Zone or Vault.
Common Misconceptions / Pitfalls
"Everything is high priority": Students may try to put too many items in the "Command Center." Remind them that if everything is highlighted, nothing is.
Confidentiality Gaps: Students often place the filing cabinet right next to where visitors sit. Remind them of "shoulder surfing" risks.
Over-Complication: Some students design beautiful spaces that require too many steps to maintain. Focus on low-friction systems.
