PRE-FLIGHT PROTOCOL
PHASE 01: ANTENNA ALIGNMENT
Whole-Body
Listening
Before a spacecraft can receive commands from Earth, its antennas must be perfectly aligned. Your body is your signal antenna!
Static Check: Noise, fidgeting, and wandering eyes act like space static. Still your physical body to clear the signal!
Eyes Locked
Look at the speaker. Follow their actions and gestures to catch non-verbal clues.
Ears Open
Listen to every word. Block out other sounds in the control room.
Brain Processor
Focus fully on the meaning. Do not start thinking about your reply yet!
Body Quiet
Keep hands and feet still. Your resting posture signals readiness to record.
OBJECTIVE: ELIMINATE ENVIRONMENTAL STATIC

COGNITIVE PROTOCOLS
PHASE 02: THE MEMORY VAULT
The Three Memory Secrets
Once the signal gets through, use these internal tools to store it in your active memory bank!
Secret 01
Mental Snapshot
Create an instant "mental movie" or picture of yourself doing the steps. Visualization anchors information!
Secret 02
Echo Whisper
Quietly repeat the steps inside your head or with a tiny lip-movement. Verbal rehearsal prevents fading.
Secret 03
Signal Chunking
Group long steps into chunks of key words (e.g., "Draw, circle, stamp"). Shorter groups are easier to hold!
STRATEGIES: VISUALIZE • REHEARSE • CHUNK

LIVE DEMONSTRATION
COGNITIVE TRIAL A
COMMAND SIGNAL RECEIVING
AUDIO TRANSMISSION:
"First, point to the sky. Then, draw a big circle in the air."
Listen to your trainer speak this command, but do not move your body yet!
How to Encode and Remember:
1
Snap the Picture (Visualize)
Close your eyes for one second. Imagine yourself pointing up, then tracing a glowing blue circular track in front of you.
2
Run the Echo (Rehearse)
Quietly whisper inside your brain-radio: "Point sky, draw circle." Repeat it three times instantly.
Launch Commands!
Now execute the actions perfectly! Did you get both steps?

COGNITIVE TRIAL B
DEEP SPACE COMMAND SEQUENCE
INCOMING TRANSMISSION:
"First, touch your shoulders. Second, clap twice. Third, put both hands on your head."
This is a heavy 3-step signal sequence. It's too long to hold without chunking!
Let's Chunk It and Rehearse:
1
Chunk the Signals
Group into three core actions:
[Shoulders] + [Double Clap] + [Head]
2
Echo Code Rehearsal
Whisper the code rhythmically to keep active memory active:
"Shoulders, Clap-Clap, Head."
Launch!
Perform the chunked commands cleanly on command! Excellent work.

MISSION INSTRUCTIONS
PHASE 03: ACTIVE EXERCISE
Active Flight Card
Simulation
It's time to run a peer-to-peer transmission exercise! You will pair up into Signal Senders and Signal Receivers to practice these protocols.
Every successful command decoded and executed earns points for your launch crew!
Mission Procedures:
01
Draw a Command Card: The Signal Sender reads the multi-step route card with a clear flight voice.
02
Align Antennas: The Receiver locks eyes, quietens their body, and turns open audio ears.
03
Apply Secrets: The Receiver takes a **mental snapshot**, **echo-rehearses**, and then executes the path perfectly!
ACTIVATION: PREPARE COMMAND WORKSTATIONS

Command Cards Activity MISSION COMMAND CARDS
CLASSROOM TRANSMISSION PACK
Instructions: Cut out these cards along the dashed lines. In pairs, the Sender reads the card with clear articulation. The Receiver lines up their antennas (active listening), encodes the steps using memory secrets, and executes the sequence!
CARD 01 • 2 STEPS
Audio Transmission:
"First, pat your head twice. Then, gently tap your knees."

CARD 02 • 2 STEPS
Audio Transmission:
"First, stand up and spin once. Then, sit back down in your seat."

PROMPT CUES
Quick verbal redirection signals:
"Align your antennas!" (Eyes on me)
"Take a snapshot!" (Mental film)
"Echo rehearsal on!" (Whisper loop)
SCRIPTED DIRECT MODELING
FACILITATOR DISCUSSION SCRIPT
SAY (Whole-Body Listening):
"Welcome crew! To listen like a flight manager, we must clear physical static. Keep hands/feet still, lock eyes on me, and ready your auditory ears. Your body is your receiving antenna!"
SAY (Modeling Mental Snapshot):
"Before I move, I freeze for one second. I close my eyes and snap a photo. I imagine myself pointing to the sky, then drawing a circle. I make a mental slide."
SAY (Modeling Echo-Rehearsal):
"Next, I whisper the steps in my head over and over: 'Point, circle... Point, circle.' Repeating it keeps the sequence from fading out of my brain vault."
PARTNER FLIGHT DRILL RULES
1. SENDER Role: Holds cards face-down. Flips Card 1, calls 'Transmission starting...', and reads commands at a clear, steady pace.
2. RECEIVER Role: Slices out visual/environmental distractions, pauses for 3s to snap/echo, then executes actions cleanly.
THERAPEUTIC / COGNITIVE SCAFFOLDING & TROUBLESHOOTING
For Cadets Who Struggle:
• Reduce commands down to 1 step.
• Pair vocal instructions with physical gestures.
• Have them sketch the snapshot on scratch paper before physical execution.
For Advanced Cadets:
• Play background low chatter as static noise.
• Enforce a 5 to 10 second delay before they are allowed to complete steps.
• Add detail modifiers (e.g., "use left index").
