First/Then Use: Direct students to the First/Then board on the Workflow Checklist. Visuals reduce anxiety during transitions between tasks.
Brain Breaks: If a student is becoming restless, prompt them to the "Steam Release" break. It's built into Slide 6 for a whole-class reset.
Choice: Task 3 of the Writing Log allows for student preference, providing a sense of agency which can reduce behavioral resistance.
Cognitive Support
Visual Consistency: Slides, Organizers, and Keys use consistent color coding (Yellow=Power, Blue=Boss/Security) to assist with retrieval.
Scaffolding: The Writing Log uses high-contrast sentence frames. Allow students to use the Organelle Blueprint as a "cheat sheet" during writing.
Standard MS-LS1-2: Focus assessment on the *relationship* between the part and the job (function), not just the vocabulary name.
