Clinical Focus — Task Initiation Friction: Initiation paralysis occurs when the cognitive load of a task feels overwhelming, triggering avoidance or perfectionist freezing. Overcoming initiation requires replacing vague instructions ("Get started!") with a mechanized, time-bounded Ignition Protocol that lowers activation energy.
The 4-Step Ignition Protocol (T-Minus Routine)
Step 01 T-90s
Clear Runway
Clear physical desk. Only target worksheet and pencil visible. Eliminate visual noise.

Find Micro-Step
Name the single tiniest move taking <15 sec (write name, circle keyword, copy date).

Set Visual Cue
Confirm agreed launch limit (e.g., 60 seconds). Point to countdown or visual sand timer.

[Executes Step 3 & 4] "Now I flip my 60-second visual sand timer. 3... 2... 1... ignition! Pencil touches paper. Look: My name is down. The word 'Compare' is circled. I have officially launched. I beat the timer. Once the engine is started, rolling forward is 10 times easier."
