Best Practices for Accommodation Support
- Physical Modeling: Demonstrate Nile River flow direction using a tilted physical tray or water bottle. Students struggle to grasp that "Up" on a map is "Downhill" elevation-wise.
- Color Coding: Have students highlight Egyptian references in amber/yellow and Kush references in teal/green to separate facts easily.
- Pre-teaching Vocabulary: Flash the words Pharaoh and Kandake with illustrations or physical items (crowns, gold foil paper) before the reading begins.
🎯 Core Objectives Covered
Students will map the kingdoms of Egypt and Kush, explain how the physical environment supported human settlement, and identify similarities and differences in their trade resources, monumental architecture, and leadership styles.
