Cozy Club Management Guide
Overnight Batch Printing
Ensure student designs are exported 2 days before club. Run longer 1-2 hour student prints overnight in batches so they're cool and ready on club day!
The "Happy Mistake" Box

How It Works ⚙️ 02 // 05
Meet Your
Robot Helper
Think of a 3D printer like a super-precise hot glue gun controlled by a robot! It melts plastic clay and draws it layer-by-layer onto a building plate.
What is Filament?
Our raw clay (PLA) is made of corn starch! It's biodegradable, totally non-toxic, and smells slightly sweet when heated.
🔥 1. The Hotend
The melting core. Heated metal liquefies solid filament and pushes out a thin, smooth thread of warm plastic clay.
📦 2. The Build Plate
The cozy foundation sheet. Kept flat and slightly warm so plastic sticks firmly while printing without sliding around.
🤖 3. Motor Gantry
The robot's arm! High-accuracy motors slide the nozzle left/right, front/back, and upwards at micro-millimeter steps.
🧶 4. Filament Spool
The big thread roll of raw plastic fed into the drive gears. Comes in thousands of wonderful pastel and neon colors!

Cozy Rules for Safe Printing
🔥 Hot Zone
Look, Don't Touch!
The active hot nozzle melts plastic at 200°C (392°F) . Treat it like a hot iron—admire your prints strictly through the glass door!
🎗️ Hair & Sleeves
Tuck and Tie!
The machine gears move quickly and with lots of force. Tie back long hair , roll up loose sleeves, and keep fingers clear of moving tracks.
🧤 Removing Prints
Let it Cool Down!
Removing fresh prints with scrapers can be tricky. Wait 5 minutes—as the build plate cools down, the plastic shrinks slightly and pops off naturally !

How Slicing Works! 🥞
Your computer drawing is saved as a solid 3D file (STL ). Our slicing app slices that drawing into flat, paper-thin layers (like pancakes), turning it into a language the printer motors can read.

My Cozy Initial Keychain
Let's get comfortable in Tinkercad! In this task, you'll practice moving blocks, typing custom letters, and drilling a tiny hole so you can hook your new print onto your school bag.
Tag Size (X/Y) 60mm × 25mm
Thickness (Z) Base: 3mm | Text: 5mm
Keychain Hole 6mm Cylinder Hole
Step 1: Drag a red solid Box. Scale it to L:60mm, W:25mm, and H:3mm. Nice and flat!
Step 2: Drag a Cylinder Hole. Scale size to X:6mm, Y:6mm. Place it 4mm from the left edge.
Step 3: Click the Text tool and type your initials! Scale the height (Z-axis) to 5mm. Merge it on top of the plate.
Step 4: Highlight everything together. Hit Ctrl+G to combine. Done! ✨
Quality: 0.2mm Infill: 15% (Honeycomb) Supports: None!

Squeeze-Me Cable Clip
Let's build a functional desk tool! This clip slides onto your charging cord to keep it from slipping off your table. You will use exact millimeter spacing for a snug fit.
Clip Size (X/Y/Z) 18mm × 18mm × 15mm
Inner Channel 4.2mm Diameter
Entrance Cut 2.8mm Wide (Box Hole)
Step 1: Drag a Cube. Scale it to X:18mm, Y:18mm, Z:15mm. In the options, set radius bevel to 1.0.
Step 2: Drag a Cylinder Hole. Scale to X:4.2mm, Y:4.2mm, Z:20mm. Align it dead-center in your block.
Step 3: To make a path for the cord to push in, drag a Box Hole. Scale to 2.8mm wide, 10mm deep.
Step 4: Slide that Box Hole on top so it cuts into the center cylinder. Group all shapes. Super cute!
Quality: 0.16mm (Fine) Infill: 20% (Gyroid) Supports: None!

Let's create interlocking modular organizers! Multiple hexagon bins tile together perfectly side-by-side like a honeycomb hive to keep your desk pens tidy.
Outer Shape Polygon (6 sides), H:40mm
Inner Wall 1.6mm thickness
Nesting Bottom Solid 2mm Floor
Step 1: Drag a Polygon solid shape (6 sides). Scale size X:30mm, Y:34.6mm, and Height to 40mm.
Step 2: Duplicate the polygon. Turn the copy into a Hole. Scale it smaller: X:26.8mm, Y:30.9mm.
