Producers (Plants)
Plants create energy from sunlight. They don't need to "eat" other organisms to survive.
Consumers (Humans)
Humans cannot make their own food from the sun. We must "consume" plants and other energy sources.

The Hook: Energy Check (10 min)
Ask students: "Where do you get your energy from?" Discuss the difference between a car (gas) and a human (food). Introduce the word Consumer .

Interactive Sorting (15 min)
Use sorting cards or the slide deck. Discuss why fruits (seeds on the inside) are different from vegetables (roots, stems, leaves). Why does our body need BOTH?

Independent: Plate Planner (25 min)
Students design their "Power Plate." Half of the plate should be covered in fruits and vegetables. Encourage "eating the rainbow" (different colors = different nutrients).
