Watch "Police Officers - How Police Help Keep Communities Safe". Use these timestamps to prompt discussion:
2:18
Pause: Ask students to name any community helpers they already know (Firefighters, Doctors, etc.).
5:50
Pause: Ask, "What should you do if you get separated from your parents in a store?" Discuss finding a "safe stranger" like an officer.
6:58
Pause: Point out the fingerprint patterns. Have students look at their own fingertips. "Everyone's is unique!"
3
Sorting Station & Role-Play
Set up three bins (labeled with the provided signs). Place the "Tool Tracker" cards in a pile.
- Students pick a card, identify the tool, and place it in the correct bin (Fire, Medical, or Police).
- Role Play: After sorting, give a student a toy radio (or the radio card). Scenario: "A little boy is lost at the toy store. Call for help!" Encourage them to say their name and location into the radio.

Closure: Circle Talk
Gather in a circle. "If you were a police officer, which tool would you use the most?" Go around and let each student share. Emphasize that police officers are here to keep us safe.
