Potion Station Setup
Materials Needed (Per Student)
- 3 Clear plastic cups (half-filled with water)
- 3 Pipettes or droppers
- Food coloring (Red, Yellow, Blue)
- Crayons & "Potion Bottles" Worksheet
Pro-Tip: Premixing
To save time, premix concentrated "potion bases" in larger jars. Each station needs a small cup of dark Red water, Yellow water, and Blue water for pipetting.

Warm-up: The Big Three (5 min)
"Everyone, open your crayon boxes! Can you find the color of an apple (Red), a lemon (Yellow), and the sky (Blue)? These are special 'Magic Colors' called Primary Colors. They are the building blocks for every other color in the world!"

Video & Predictions (5 min)
Play 'Mixing Colors!' video. Pause for student predictions:
- 1:51: Yellow + Blue = Green
- 2:04: Blue + Red = Purple
- 2:16: Red + Yellow = Orange

Magical Potions Activity (20 min)
Students rotate to stations to mix their own 'potions' in clear cups. Emphasize that we only mix TWO colors at a time.
Step A: Add 2-3 drops of Color 1 to water.
Step B: Add 2-3 drops of Color 2 to the same cup.

Closure: Crayon Flashcards (5 min)
Show the "Secondary Color" cards on the next page. Ask students to hold up the TWO primary crayons they think would make that color.
