Activity 1: The Muddy Water Fix (30 Mins)
Scenario: A village needs clean water for their plants, but the river is full of sand and dirt. How can we use rocks and sand to clean it?
Procedure
Place a coffee filter inside a cup with a hole in the bottom.
Layer sand, then small pebbles on top.
Place the filter cup over an empty clear cup.
Slowly pour muddy water through the layers.
Observe the water in the bottom cup.

Activity 2: Bird Nest Blueprint (30 Mins)
Scenario: A bird needs to build a nest that won't blow away. They need to use soil (clay), water (to soften it), and rocks for weight.
Procedure
Mix a tiny bit of water with modeling clay to show how soil gets "sticky" like mud.
Use the clay to secure sticks (grass/string) to the paper plate.
Incorporate small pebbles to give the nest structure and strength.
Test the nest by placing a "marble egg" inside.
