P3 Sequence
Lesson 1: Double Edged Tech
Instructional Flow
Introduction: Use Tech Truths Slides to broaden the definition of tech beyond screens.
Sorting: Groups sort Helpful or Tricky Cards . Ask: "Is a phone ALWAYS helpful?"
Synthesis: Individual work on Tech Balance Sheet .
Non-Reader Strategy
For the non-reading student, provide the Helpful or Tricky Cards and have them glue their favorites onto the Support Sheet boxes. The large icons on Page 2 of the Support Sheet are designed for high-visibility circling.
Key Questions
"What happens to our bodies if we use tech for 5 hours without a break?"
"Why do we need rules for things that are helpful?"
Lesson 2: Future Fixers
Instructional Flow
The Problem: Brainstorm daily annoyances. Use Invention Lab Slides to show simple machines.
Design: Use the Helper Invention Blueprint . Emphasize labeling the "moving parts".
Presentation: Use the scaffolding on the final slide for students to present to peers.
Low Literacy Scaffolding
The Support Blueprint offers a "Pick-a-Problem" menu. Students can circle a problem (Hunger, Sadness, Mess) to focus their drawing efforts.
