Learning Objective
Students will understand Earth's hierarchical location in the universe by creating a "Cosmic Address" booklet, accurately identifying the sequence from home to the universe.

Warm-up: The Delivery Analogy
Goal: Activate prior knowledge of addresses.
Write a standard mailing address on the board (e.g., School Name, Street, City, State, Country).
Ask: "What does each line represent?" Highlight how it gets bigger/more general as you go down.
Ask: "If an alien sent us a postcard from across the galaxy, what else would they need to write on the envelope?"

Goal: Introduce the scale of billions and our location.

Main Activity: Cosmic Address Booklet
Goal: Creative application of address hierarchy.
Distribute the booklet worksheets. Students will:
Illustrate and label each page (Me & Home → City → State/Country → Earth → Solar System → Milky Way → Universe).
Cut out the circles (designed to be stacked largest-to-smallest or as a standard booklet).
Staple the top edge.

Discussion: The Scale of Us
Goal: Reflect on the immensity of space.
Discussion Anchor: "Why is it hard to imagine a billion? If you counted one star every second, it would take over 31 years to reach a billion!"Critical Thinking: "Why do we see the Milky Way as a 'cloudy path' in the sky instead of a pinwheel?" (Recall the pancake analogy from the video).
Differentiation Strategies
Support
Provide a word bank with labels (e.g., "Earth," "Milky Way") for students to glue onto the correct pages instead of writing.
Extension
Challenge students to identify which "Spiral Arm" we live on (Orion-Cygnus Arm) and add it to their booklet label.
