Guided Student Access
Mentor Tech Model: Learning from strong examples — both teacher-modeled chats and student chats that show critical thinking in action. This gradual release of responsibility keeps classrooms safe and supportive as students build toward getting quality results on their own.
K-3
Teacher-Led Modeling & Supervised Exploration
Teachers model AI inquiry on class screens. (Exception: Innovative teachers ready to integrate AI use SchoolAI Spaces within core instruction.)
4-6
Moderated Subject Bots
Following gradual release modeling, students use monitored SchoolAI bots for Science, SS, and ELA.
7-8
Monitored Subject Tutoring
Part of DLG26: Junior High is creating custom content-area bots that provide writing feedback without doing the work, following teacher modeling and gradual release.
9-12
Targeted Study Partners
Active curriculum tutoring bots support Special Ed & ML, as adaptive personal tutors that build critical thinking, while all HS students can use AI for studying and learning support.
Administrative Safety Umbrella
Active Flagging
All SchoolAI student conversations are actively monitored. Inappropriate terms or searches trigger an automated flag to teachers/IT. Staff can revoke access instantly.
Zero Consumer Access
All standard consumer-grade AI models (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini) are strictly blocked for students. Monitored sandboxes prevent student plagiarism and data leakage.

"With AI, there is no finish line — only the next iteration, and then the one after that. What we used to call 'piloting' isn't a phase we complete and move past; it's a practice we build into how we work."
