Detective Briefing: Most plural nouns follow the standard rule: add -s or -es (e.g., dog → dogs , box → boxes ). Irregular plural nouns break the rule! They change their vowel sounds, morph into new words, or completely change their ending. Never add -s to these rule-breakers!

Grammar Rule
Vowel Changers
The inside vowels morph into new sounds:
foot → feet
tooth → teeth
goose → geese
Total Morphers
The whole word transforms into a new form:

Drop the 'f' and add -ves to the end:
