📋 Quick-Prep Lesson Timeline & Steps
1. Teach (15 mins) Present the Broadcast Slides. Practice the "EE/EA" smile and review throat vibration on past-tense "-ed" endings.
2. Production (25 mins) Distribute worksheets & station cards. Students write script, allocate roles, practice reading, and record their news broadcast.
3. Review (10 mins) Present finished videos. Have the class listen carefully and count how many target phonics words are correctly used!
⚠️ Common Misconceptions to Watch For:
Pronouncing "-ed" as /id/ on every word: Ensure they don't say "jump-id" or "yell-id". The /id/ sound only applies if the base verb ends in /t/ or /d/.
Syllable Count Shift: Point out that /t/ and /d/ keep the word at one syllable, while /id/ adds a syllable.
