Weekly Alphabet Play Guide LETTER PLAYTIME
Weekly Sensory & Play Guide
TODDLER-APPROVED (AGES 1-3)
đ§¸
Low Pressure, High Sensory
Toddlers learn best through full-body interaction, touch, and exploration. Do not worry about drills or memorization! Use this guide to weave letter exposure naturally into daily sensory play and conversation.
Daily Sensory Playbook
đĸ
1. Play Dough Stamp-Out
Roll out big flat pancakes of playdough. Use large toy letters or chunky household items to stamp the letters directly into the dough. Let them trace the squished indentations with their fingers.
đ§ŧ
2. Shaving Cream Swipe
Spread shaving cream (or whipped cream) on a plastic tray. Draw a single big target letter of the day. Toddlers use their index finger to trace it, wipe it clean, and start over!
đĨŖ
3. Sensory Letter Soup
Fill a plastic bin with water or dried beans. Toss in plastic magnetic letters. Give your toddler a big spoon, cup, or soup ladle to "scoop out" letters. Cheer loudly when they catch one!
Parent Golden Rule: Keep sessions short! If your toddler walks away after 2 minutes, that's completely normal and perfect. Come back later for another quick, joyful moment.

WED
Letter Hunt
Walk around the room or yard. Look for objects shaped like the letters or items starting with those sounds.
THU
My Name Day
Focus heavily on the letters in the child's first name. Point them out in a customized name template!
Outdoor & Active Ideas
Chalk Hopscotch
Draw giant letters on the driveway with chalk and hop onto the letters as you sing them!
Tape Alphabet Roads
Use painter's tape to form huge letters on the rug. Let toddlers drive toy cars along the letter lines.
Sticky Note Slap
Write letters on sticky notes. Stick them to the wall. Call out a letter and let your toddler slap it!
"The best way to teach letters is to make them the best toys in the room!"
