Workshop Sequence
10m Introduction
Introduction & Warm-Up
Start with the Brainstorm Blitz! warm-up. Use the provided script and slide deck to introduce the "Master Maker" concept and the mission for the day.
15m Briefing
Station Overview & Safety Briefing
Walk students through the 4 stations. Demonstrate basic machine operations and emphasize safety rules (lasers, hot nozzles, sharp blades). Review the Project Guide and Rubric.
50m Stations
Gift-Making Station Rotation
Four groups rotate every 12-13 minutes. Students follow specific station activity cards for Glowforge, Cricut, 3D Printing, and Color Printing. Teacher circulates for technical support and safety monitoring.
15m Reflection
Wrap-Up & Reflection
Whole class discussion on challenges and favorite tools. Students complete the My Gift Journey cool-down as an exit ticket. Remind students of the final project timeline.
Approach: Hands-on station-based learning with guided instructions and creative freedom. Audience: 9th Grade Students.

Part 2: Briefing & Safety
[Transition to Slide Deck - Station Overview]
"At the Glowforge station, you'll be using a laser to cut and engrave. SAFETY: never look directly into the laser and keep your hands clear. Next, the Cricut Crafting Corner is for precision cutting of vinyl and paper. Watch the blades! Over at the Dremel 3D Print Zone, you'll see layer-by-layer creation. SAFETY: the nozzle gets very hot, so never touch it. Finally, the Laser Color Print Station for high-quality full-color designs."
IMPORTANT "Throughout all stations, remember: Always follow instructions, ask if you're unsure, respect the equipment, and help each other learn."

"Time to rotate! Group 1 starts at Glowforge, Group 2 at Cricut, Group 3 at 3D Print, and Group 4 at Color Print. You'll have 12-13 minutes per station. Listen for my whistle for transitions. Let's get making!"

Station 1 • Cut & Engrave
Phase 1: Design & Prepare
Open Software: Access the Glowforge software on the station computer.
Choose a Template: Select a pre-designed shape (circle, square, or rectangle) for a keychain or coaster.
Personalize: Add your initials, a simple icon, or a short word (e.g., "MOM", "HI"). Ensure the text is set to "Engrave".
Phase 2: Fabrication
Load Material: With teacher help, place your wood or acrylic sheet onto the honeycomb bed.
Set Material: Select the correct material type in the software so the laser knows the power settings.
GO! Press the glowing blue button on the machine to start the laser process.
Goal
Create one personalized keychain or small coaster.
Safety Rules
• NEVER look directly at the laser beam while it's cutting.
• Keep the lid closed until the fan stops.
• Stay by the machine at all times during the print.
• Ask teacher before removing material.

Station 2 • Precision Cutting
Phase 1: Design Space
Open Software: Launch Cricut Design Space on the station computer.
Choose a Project: Select a simple pre-designed project (vinyl shape or card element).
Personalize: Add your initial or a short word. Adjust the size to fit (aim for 2x2 or 3x3 inches).
Phase 2: Cut & Apply
Load Mat: Stick your material to the mat, align it with the machine, and press the 'Load' (Arrow) button.
Cut: Press the flashing 'C' button on the machine to start cutting.
Weed & Peel: Use the weeding tool to remove the excess vinyl, then use transfer tape to move your design to its final surface.
Goal
Create a custom vinyl decal or a greeting card element.
Pro-Tips
• Blades are VERY sharp. Do not touch the housing.
• Keep mats clean to ensure materials stick.
• Check your 'Cut' settings before starting.
• Be gentle when weeding intricate designs.

Dremel 3D Print Zone Activity Dremel 3D Print Zone!
Station 3 • 3D Fabrication
Phase 1: Prepare the File
Slicing Software: Launch the Dremel software on the computer.
Load Model: Select a small, pre-approved 3D model (geometric shape or a single letter initial).
Personalize: If using a letter, choose your initial. If a shape, ensure it is scaled small (under 1 inch) for speed.
Phase 2: Start the Print
Check Filament: Ensure there is enough PLA loaded in the printer.
Prep Plate: Ensure the build plate is clean. Teacher will apply adhesive if needed.
INITIATE: Send the file to the printer. Watch the first layer carefully—this is the most important part!
Goal
Understand the 3D printing process by starting a small model (mini-token or initial).
HOT ZONE
• The nozzle is 200°C+. NEVER touch it.
• The build plate can also be hot.
• Keep hands clear of all moving belts and parts.
• Do not try to remove a print until it is cool.

Station 4 • Vibrant Design
Phase 1: Digital Design
Software: Use Google Slides, Canva, or the pre-set graphic editor on the computer.
Select Template: Open a template for a gift tag, small card, or mini art print.
Personalize: Add high-res images, colorful text, and a personalized message. Focus on contrast and clarity!
Phase 2: Final Print
Check Paper: Ensure the tray has cardstock or high-quality paper. Ask teacher if you need a specific color.
Settings: Set to "High Quality" and select the correct paper weight in the print dialog.
PRINT: Hit print and watch your vibrant design come to life. Cut it out carefully with provided scissors.

Pro-Tips
• High resolution = No blur. Use big image files!
• Mind your margins. Don't put text too close to the edge.
• Colors look different on screen vs. paper—expect some change.
