Calculus Canvas Project Guide
The Calculus Canvas
Physics-Mathematics Synthesis Project
Project Guide
Spring 2026
The Mission
Your task is to create a visual masterpiece that demonstrates the deep connection between a Physics concept and a Calculus concept. Physics describes the physical world; Calculus provides the mathematical framework. Your poster will bridge these two disciplines.
1. Technical Scope
Select one Physics concept and link it to one of these Calculus domains:
- Derivation (Differentiation)
- Integration
- Series & Sequences
- Parametric Equations
- Polar Coordinates
2. Visual Standards
Graphics must clarify the process, not just decorate the page.
"A good graphic makes the invisible visible. Show the vectors, the area under a curve, the infinite sum, or the changing rate of a system."
Inspiration Hub
Kinematics
Link position, velocity, and acceleration via derivation or integration.
Orbits
Model planetary motion or gravitational fields using polar coordinates.
Flow
Explore rates of fluid flow or pressure changes using integration.
