Record the temperature of the liquid in table one

Put on safety goggles and clear your workspace

Clean and dry the glass beaker with paper towels

Measure exactly 50 milliliters of water

Audio Sleuth Self-Check: Check the habits you demonstrated today

I kept hands still until speaking stopped.

I pictured the steps in my mind first.

I caught every action verb and trap word.

"Before touching cell A3, move to cell C1 and write the number 5 directly below SIERRA. Execute!"

Command 3 (Spoken): KEY: In cell A2 (74), put an X over 74; in cell C2 (15), underline 15.

"Cross out the number in cell A2 with an X, and once that is done, underline the number in cell C2. Execute!"

4 Part 4: Science Lab Procedure (Read Once)

CHRONOLOGICAL ORDER

Say: "I will read this entire paragraph once. Listen for signal words like 'First', 'Next', and 'Finally'. Then number the 4 boxes 1 to 4."

Read Aloud Paragraph (Normal Speed):

"First and foremost, put on safety goggles and clear your workspace of any clutter. Subsequently, measure exactly 50 milliliters of water into a graduated cylinder. Then, record the starting temperature of the liquid in table one. Lastly, before leaving the lab station, clean and dry the glass beaker with paper towels."

Correct Order: 1: Safety goggles • 2: Measure 50 mL • 3: Record temp • 4: Clean beaker

Differentiation & Auditory Support

For English Learners / Auditory Processing: Allow a 5-second echo pause. Give a non-verbal hand cue (raised palm = listening, open hand = start writing).

For Advanced Students: Challenge students to repeat the verbatim spoken command backward or explain which clue word signaled the sequence.
