Course Purpose & Vision
In Grade 8 ELA, students explore how storytelling, evidence, and diverse perspectives illuminate the human experience. Through the EL Education curriculum, we analyze complex texts, construct reasoned arguments, and elevate student voice.

Daily Student Success Routine

15% Formative Practice Process
Daily reading checks, bellringers, active seminar participation, & practice.
35% Quizzes & Mid-Units Production
Text-dependent analyses, vocabulary assessments, & written rough drafts.
50% Summative Projects Performance
End-of-module essays, multi-paragraph research papers, & oral presentations.
*Retakes & revisions are encouraged on major assessments per ELA policy.
