Word Roots Mastery
The Word Anatomy Formula
Over 60% of English words stem from Latin & Greek
A root is the primary lexical unit of a word that carries the core meaning. When prefixes (front) and suffixes (end) attach, they modify that meaning.
Prefix (Front) un- "not / opposite"
Prefix (Secondary) pre- "before"
Base Root dict "say / speak"
Suffix (End) -able "capable of being"
Result: unpredictable = not capable of being spoken/known beforehand!

Recall the root definition (e.g., tract = pull, phon = sound).
3. Plug into Sentence
Combine prefix + root + suffix and test whether the meaning makes sense in context.
