Interactive Game: "Earth Word or Alien Word?" zib vs. zip , tup vs. tub ). Students decode using the 3-step routine. If it's a real word, students give two thumbs up; if it's an alien word, students make alien antenna fingers over their heads!

Common Misconceptions to Watch For
1. Lexical Bias (Real Word Swapping):
Student reads mav as "man" or zib as "zip". Correction: "Look at that final letter. What sound does /v/ make? Stick to the letters you see!"
2. Choppy Segmenting without Blending:
Student says "/t/ ... /u/ ... /p/" but cannot synthesize "tup". Correction: Model continuous voicing: "Don't stop your breath between sounds: ttttuuuuppp!"
