Day 1 & 2: Instruction
Direct Focus
Teach "-ng" as a nasal glued sound. Vowels (a, i, o, u) change slightly when they are before /ng/.
Tap, Map, Zap
Tap: Finger tap phonemes (e.g., /s/-/a/-/ng/).
Map: Write sounds into Elkonin boxes.
Zap: Slide finger across the whole word and read fast!
Day 3: Word "or"
Heart Part
The entire word "or" is special. Use choice gestures (pointing left/right) to anchor the meaning.
Small Group Goal
Continuous blending of nasal sounds is the primary objective for Day 3.
Day 4 & 5: Review
Fluency (Day 4)
Read "The Ring King's Quest". Focus on reading glued sounds without adding an extra /g/ sound at the end.
Final Bee (Day 5)
