Short Story
Leo and his fluffy golden pup, Barnaby, dashed out to the yard right after the morning rain. Barnaby sniffed the wet grass and suddenly froze. Right beneath a big brown maple leaf lay a bright blue, shimmering feather! Barnaby gave a soft bark and gently tapped it with his nose. Leo bent down and picked it up. “Look at this, Barnaby! This doesn't belong to a robin or a sparrow,” Leo whispered. Just then, a flash of bright blue zipped past the high tree branches, dropping a tiny pinecone right at Leo's boots! Barnaby looked up and gave a happy tail wag.
