Pitch Closer Coaching Guide
Sophomore Edition (Grade 10)
The Ask & Call to Action
What Happened in Your Pitch:
Your app idea was awesome, but finishing with "So yeah, that's my app, hope you guys liked it!" leaves judges wondering: How much money do you actually need? and What are we supposed to do now?
Your 5-Sentence Pitch Fix (Simple & Clear)
1 Paragraph ⢠Exactly 5 Sentences
To finish your pitch strong, ditch the awkward "hope you liked it" ending and wrap up with The Ask and a Call to Action. First, use The Ask to tell the judges the exact dollar amount you need and how you'll spend it, like asking for $5,000 to finish coding the app and launch testing with 100 students at our high school. Naming a real number proves you have an actual game plan instead of just guessing. Next, use your Call to Action to tell everyone the exact move to make right now, like scanning your QR code to test the safety features or stopping by your table to talk. When you end with confidence and clear steps, you turn polite claps into real support.
1
The Ask (What You Need)
What it is: Don't be shy about money! Tell them the exact amount you need to take your app to the next level.
ā "We just need some money to keep going."
ā
"We are asking for $5,000 to launch our beta test with 100 students."
Formula: Exact Dollar Amount + What It Buys
2
Call to Action (Next Step)
What it is: Tell the audience what button to press, QR code to scan, or table to visit today. Give them homework!
ā "Hit me up if you want to chat later."
ā
"Scan the QR code on screen right now to try the demo, and come meet us at Table 3!"
Formula: One Quick Action + Do It Today
Practice Script: Say This at the End of Your Mobile Safety App Pitch
Say It With Confidence
"To keep our classmates safe walking home after practice, we are asking for $5,000 to finish our instant alert feature and launch the app across our school district. Please scan the QR code on screen right now to test the demo, or come chat with us at Table 3 right after pitches wrap up. Thank you!"
Quick Rule: Never say "that's it" or apologize when you finish ā end with energy and thank them!
