Scene 1: The Morning Clue Read carefully & scan
Detective Max pinned his silver badge to his blue vest. He looked up at the tall school clock. It was almost nine in the morning, but the school had no morning sound! The golden brass bell was gone from the front porch. Principal Lee needed help fast.
Scene 2: Following the Secret Trail Hunt for remaining clues
Max switched on his bright yellow flashlight to search under the shady pine tree. In the soft mud, he held a round glass lens close to the ground. Wow! There were tiny animal footprints heading toward the garden gate.
Max opened his pocket playground map to trace where the path led. Behind the bushes sat a locked wooden box. Max reached into his jacket, grabbed a shiny brass key, and turned the lock. Click! Inside sat Barnaby the bunny rabbit—curled up fast asleep next to the shining morning chime!
