Fran and Brad slip on a mask and swim into Swift Reef. They paddle fast past the damp rocks to spot sea life in the soft sand. A flat crab with pink spots creeps into a dark crack.
"Look at that big clam snap shut!" said Brad with a grin. A slim green fish glides past the tall kelp to gulp a crisp shrimp. Fran and Brad drift on the crest of a gentle swell.
Dusk comes fast, and cool winds blow from the west. They swim back to the warm sand to rest their legs. Bright stars blink in the night sky. It was the best reef trip yet!
